Welcome to 2016 – The World’s Most Exciting Year for MRO Events Ever

As we jump straight into 2016 we are only days away from the first MRO Event of the year. MRO Latin America taking place in Lima, Peru (starts Jan. 20) gets us underway taking a close look at the issues facing this growing market in the Southern Hemisphere. In addition to key forecast and trends we’ll dive into certifications, international trade, streamlining logistics in the region, Leasing, IFE, Partnerships and much more.

Little more than a week later Aviation Week Network kicks off the 8th annual edition of MRO Middle East. Starting February 3rd at the World Trade Center in Dubai this Conference & Exhibition will feature regional updates. We will hear from the head of the Arab Air Carriers Organization. One major change this year is the inclusion of several Roundtable style sessions designed to increase participation and provide a more involved, hands on experience.

Welcome to 2016 – The World’s Most Exciting Year for MRO Events Ever

Normally we’d have a little breather after that before the “big one.” But a funny thing happened on the way to 2016. The Aviation Week Network purchased the UK-based MRO Network and we are now one big happy family busily working on the process of integration. Therefore I’m pleased to inform you on MRO Network Airline E&M China-East Asia event in Hong Kong starting March 9th.

Before I turn this into just a listing of the year’s upcoming events there are some things I’d like to point out. It’s a bold statement to say this will be the most exciting year ever for MRO Events globally. That is not said lightly. It is the combining of the two largest MRO Event organizations in the world into a single team that makes this possible. Yes, it means we instantly have more events in our line-up. Andit also means we have greater depth in terms of creating and managing them. And naturally it means that both teams have somewhat different ways of doing these things and we will learn from each other. In my experience, diversity is almost always a good thing.

Come April of course it will be the MRO Americas Conference and Exhibition in Dallas, TX. It’s looking great with kick off speeches from Kevin McAllister from GE, Doug Parker, CEO American Airlines and Lt. General Lee K. Levy II, Commander of the Air Force Sustainment Center, Air Force Materiel Command. Yes, that’s right. MRO Military is back.

There will be more State of the Airline Sessions at MRO Americas than ever. The operational and technical leadership of American Airlines, United Airlines, FedEx Express, UPS Airlines, Southwest Airlines and JetBlue Airways will provide an in-depth overview of each carrier’s fleet status, what’s new in tech-ops, major and upcoming projects, challenges and issues facing its supply chain.

Last year MRO Americas had 15,000 registered attendees and we anticipate the same this year. Currently there are 678 Exhibitors signed up for MRO Americas. Everyone you want to meet, talk to and rub shoulders with will be there! The best place to be for face-to-face conversations.

Returning this year will be the Aerospace Maintenance Competition. Located on the exhibition floor this competition will focus on training and skills needed in aviation maintenance.

If that is not enough for you we have a lot more. Late April brings the Airline Engineering & Maintenance Middle East in Abu Dhabi. We then take you to London for Engine Leasing Trading & Finance in May and then AP&M London in June.

Of course the MRO World Tour then moves to Prague, Czech Republic for MRO BEER starting June 7th. In it’s fifth year, MRO BEER focuses on the specific market needs of the Baltics, Eastern Europe and Russia. Czech Airlines Technics will host a tour of its facilities as well.

Welcome to 2016 – The World’s Most Exciting Year for MRO Events Ever

We’ll give you summer to recharge your batteries. I’ll tell you more about the fall line-up in a few months. And I’ll close by saying anyone who attends all of the MRO events in 2016 will get an MRO World Tour T-shirt listing each event and location. We’ll start handing them out at MRO Asia-Pacific in Singapore beginning September 27th. I look forward to seeing you, on the road and in the air!
